The Wild Robot by Peter Brown is coming to the big screen!!! This beloved book is a favorite book of many LGES readers, including Mrs. Crossman. Leading up to the debut of the movie we are offering a book club to all 3-6 students where students can come to the library and listen to the book during their lunch. This club will start September 16th and end September 27th (opening day).
Any student who takes part in every book club session is invited to join us on Monday, September 30th for an after-school field trip to see the movie at Regal Cinemas in Queensbury. Families will be responsible for covering the cost of the movie, but transportation will be provided. Interested students in the book club can sign up using the following Google Form. Permission slips for the movie will be send home at a later time. You can download the permission slip below. All permission slips are due Thursday, September 26th. |
This book club will take place during lunch and will run all year long. Each month Mrs. Crossman and Mrs. Chodack will pick a different "feeling" to feature. The feeling will be introduced through a picture book read by Mrs. Crossman and then explored a little deeper in a fun activity led by Mrs. Chodack. At the end of the year any student who participated in one or more of the monthly sessions will be invited to join us for a showing of the movie Inside Out 2.
Each month we will release a new schedule with the featured feeling, book & activities, and days each level is scheduled. Please stay tuned for further information.

Summer Programs Highlights
We offered many wonderful programs to our students this summer. Between open library hours on Wednesdays, a lending library of books, equipment, supplies and passes, "Do'NUT Know What to Read" Book Club, "Art Time", and "Books and Beaches" our students had a great time learning and exploring. Thank you to all our community partners that made this possible.
The LGES Library is Here for You!
While our entire website is designed to help support our learners, teachers and families, our homepage has been specifically tailored to be a quick and easy place to access critical resources to support all of our patrons. Please be sure to reach out if we can help provide additional support.

Family After-School Library Hours
Prior to Covid our library was full of families during after-school hours. We would love to open the library back up again for students and families to come and enjoy. Families can feel free to browse the shelves, read a good book together, work on homework, or enjoy a quiet activity. We ask that all children in grades K-4 who are staying to come with a family member who will supervise them. We encourage parents of students in grades 5-6 to come and enjoy the library with their families as well, but they are more than welcome to stay in the library without their families, as long as they have their parents permission, have signed up prior to 1:00 on the sign-up sheet posted on the bulletin, and have work (homework, reading, projects, etc.) to during their time. Students are not allowed to use their phones during this time.
The library will be open Monday -Thursday from 2:20-3:10. With the exception of the first Tuesday of each month while the staff attends our monthly faculty meeting. Please reach to Mrs. Crossman or Mrs. Chance for further information! |
