Global Read Aloud: Week 1
Students in Second Grade are taking part in the Global Read Aloud that connects classrooms around the world through books. This year we are reading books by Mem Fox and so are many other children in classrooms all over. The first book we read was Koala Lou. In this book we learned all about different Australian Animals. We decided to make our own books about the animals in our area and share this book with participating classes. We hope that classrooms around the world will enjoy learning about the animals in our area!
The Global Read Aloud: Week 2
This week we read Possum Magic by Mem Fox. We learned all about the unique foods found in Australia. Students then made creative videos to teach others about the foods that we enjoy in New York. Students learned a new tool for finding legal images.
