Spring Book Fair
This March we will be "serving" up an extra special event along with our Book Fair. On March 14th we will be hosting our first ever Readers Cafe. Families are encouraged to come to the Cafeteria between the hours of 3:15-5:15 and have a member of our student wait staff serve you a delicious treat (made by our own students and Chef Jeff) and books to sample before visiting the Book Fair. This is an opportunity for families to come together share in a fun-filled literacy event with the LGES community. It also provides an opportunity to explore some of the many books to choose from in the book fair before heading down to the Library to shop for a just right book. We hope to see you there!
In addition to our special event, all classes will be visiting the Book Fair at some point between March 14th-19th. Each classroom teacher will select a time for their class to visit the Fair. Please check with your child's classroom teacher for specifics on when your child will be at the Book Fair. As a reminder we accept cash, credit, and e-wallet for payment. If you would like to add funds to your child's ewallet, please visit our Book Fair Homepage, where you can also directly purchase books online.

Family After-School Library Hours
Prior to Covid our library was full of families during after-school hours. We would love to open the library back up again for students and families to come and enjoy. Families can feel free to browse the shelves, read a good book together, work on homework, or enjoy a quiet activity. We ask that all children in grades K-4 who are staying to come with a family member who will supervise them. We encourage parents of students in grades 5-6 to come and enjoy the library with their families as well, but they are more than welcome to stay in the library without their families, as long as they have their parents permission, have signed up prior to 1:00 on the sign-up sheet posted on the bulletin, and have work (homework, reading, projects, etc.) to during their time. Students are not allowed to use their phones during this time.
The library will be open Monday -Thursday from 2:20-3:10. With the exception of the first Tuesday of each month while the staff attends our monthly faculty meeting. Please reach to Mrs. Crossman or Mrs. Chance for further information! |
Summer Programs
Thank you to everyone who participated in our summer Books and Beaches Program. It was a huge success with over 90 students participating over the course of the summer.
Many thanks to the wonderful librarians at Caldwell Public Library for providing our students with a space to explore, learn and play at this summer. We are so lucky to have this gem of a library in our community. This program would not have been possible without the generous support of the Bob Ross Memorial Foundation. Thank you so much for making this program a reality for our students. We are beyond grateful! |
