Our First Ever Whoville Party
We are excited to host our first ever "Whoville" Party for all LGES students. This is an opportunity to get festive and celebrate the love of reading. The library will be open from 6:30-7:30 pm on December 5th with lots of fun activities. The Book Fair will be open, we will have two showings of a short readers theater of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," a book wrapping station, and lots of Grinch themed snacks. Please come join us as Mrs. Crossman and the Reading Department dress in "Whoville" attire and get students energized about reading.
We hope to see you there! |
The Book Fair is Coming
The Book Fair will start December 5th at 8:00 am - 3:00 pm, then open back up for a special "Whoville" family event from 6:30-7:30. The fair will be open again Friday, December 6th from 8:00 am- 3:00 pm, Monday, December 9th from 8:00 am- 3:00 pm and Tuesday, December 10th from 8:00-2:00 pm. We are excited to announce that we are going to be trying something new this year and using Follett as our Book Fair provider. Follett has many convenient options for families, such as the ability to buy gift cards at www.follettgift.com. This is a great option if you don't want to send money into school with your child or if a family member from out of town wants to gift them a gift card to the Book Fair. If you purchase a gift card, you simply print the PDF of the gift card and have your child bring it with them to the Fair.
Students met Kate DiCamillo
Thanks to Northshire Bookstore for making our students VIP's at the Kate DiCamillo author event in Saratoga. Students and teachers were able to take an evening road trip to meet Ms. DiCamillo, listen to her speak and capture and picture with her. What an exciting experience for our students and teachers!
